Originally constructed in 1881, this historic structure located on East Carson Street on the South Side of Pittsburgh had fallen to grave disrepair. TREK has formed a partnership with the local CDC to execute this historic restoration. The ground floor will contain retail and commercial space and the upper floors will be two-story loft apartments.
The sustainable design includes a green roof, courtyard water garden, low-VOC paints, and Energy Star lighting, while the facade was restored according to National Park Service standards.
Some interesting facts:

The name "Schwartz Sanitary Market" was uncovered on the storefront signage of 1507 East Carson Street during the 2005 restoration, revealing the original location of Schwartz Market.
